You can allow your event attendees to add guests to their registration. In this article, learn all about how event attendees can add guests.
Definitions and Restrictions
- Event attendee: an individual with an OpenSports account who has registered for your event.
- Event guest: an individual without an OpenSports account who was added to your event by an event attendee.
- During event setup, you can specify how many guests each attendee is able to add to the event.
What guest information is available to the event organizer?
When event attendees add guests to their event registration, they must add the guest's first and last name. This information will be visible in the event attendee list.
- Event attendees can enter an optional email or phone number for their guest. If they add a guest email, the guest will receive a copy of their event registration in their inbox. However, as the event organizer, you do not have access to the guest email or phone number.
- Guests are not required to view and accept the group waiver (unlike attendees), so if you collect waivers, you will have to follow-up with the guest directly.
How do guests pay for their event registration?
If your event is paid, the event attendee who adds the guest to their registration will be charged for both orders (e.g., if registration costs $10.00 and the event attendee adds 2 guests, they will pay $30.00 for all three registrations).
Can guests cancel their event registration?
In order to cancel a guest registration, the event attendee who added the guest must cancel their own registration as well (i.e., registrations are bundled together).
- For paid events cancelled before the refund deadline, the event attendee who added the guest will be refunded the cost of the registrations (either as an automatic group account credit or manual refund to credit card).
