Set Signup Windows with Registration Ranges for Your League or Tournament

Want to organize your sign-up periods, boost urgency, and control when each registration option is visible? Registration Ranges give you that power. Whether you're offering Early Bird registration, Regular signups, or Last-Minute spots, this feature ensures players only see what they’re meant to see, at exactly the right time.

Registration Ranges allow you to set date, and time-based availability for each registration type (like Early Bird Team Registration or Regular Individual Registration). This is especially useful for leagues and tournaments where you want to show or hide options based on a defined timeline—keeping your registration process clean and strategic.

Note: Registration Ranges are available in both Leagues and Tournaments for groups on the Full-Time Plan. If you don’t see the option in your dashboard, email support@opensports.net and we’ll enable it for you within 24–48 hours.

How to Set Up Registration Ranges

  1. Go to Dashboard > Select Leagues & Tournaments

  2. Choose an existing league or tournament, or create a new one

  3. Under Registration Ranges, select Structured Mode. Here is a breakdown of the options for additional context:

  • Manual Mode: All registration options can have their own dates.

  • Structured Mode: Schedule when registration options are available based on preset date and time ranges.

Setting Up Structured Mode

Once Structured Mode is selected, you can:

  • Create Registration Ranges by adding a Title (e.g., “Early Bird”)

  • Set a Start and End Date/Time for each range

    • (Optional) Check “Hide When Not On Sale” to automatically hide registration options outside of their active window

Note: Make sure your registration date ranges slightly overlap or are back-to-back to avoid any gaps where registration is unavailable. Ex: Early Bird ends the same day Regular begins, and Late starts the day Regular ends.

Then, link each registration option (like “Early Bird Team Registration”) to its corresponding Registration Range. This controls when each option is available for registration.

What Players Will See

Players will only be able to register for the registration options that are available during the current Registration Range.

After registering, players can either copy an invite link to share with teammates or prepay for a spot and send a prepaid invite code to a friend, making it easy to fill the team quickly!

Common Use Cases for Registration Ranges

Most leagues and tournaments split their signup window into clear registration ranges so players know when to act and organizers can lock in numbers early. The usual progression is Early Bird → Regular → Late / Last-Minute, with each range having its own pricing.

  • Early Bird (biggest discount) : Opens first - typically the first 2-3 weeks, to incentivize early registration and secure initial cash flow

  • Regular (standard rate) : Covers the bulk of registration period; most players sign up here

  • Late/Last Minute (small surcharge) : Opens in the final weeks, creating urgency and offsetting any extra admin work.
