What is Auto Approve Scores Entered by Captains?
When Auto Approve Scores Entered by Captains is enabled, any match score submitted by either team captain is automatically approved and locked, without requiring confirmation from the opposing captain or review by an admin. This is designed for fully self-officiated matches where no score disputes are expected, and the result is accepted as final once submitted.
This differs from the Captains Can Enter Scores setup (without Auto Approve), where a score submitted by one captain must be confirmed by the other before it's locked in.
Example Use Case
In a casual pickleball league that runs on trust and self-reporting, the Auto Approve setting allows either captain to submit the score, and that score becomes final immediately.
In contrast, for more competitive environments, you may choose to leave Auto Approve off, so that scores must be verified by both captains to be finalized.
How to Enable Auto Approve:
Go to your Group Profile > Dashboard
Click Leagues/Tournaments, then select existing or create new league/tournament.
Under Match Settings, check Captains Can Enter Scores
Note: This must be enabled to allow Auto Approve.
Check Auto Approve Scores Entered by Captains
- Enter a Score Entry Description to guide captains on how to input scores and note that submitted scores will be automatically finalized.
- Complete any additional required settings and click Save.
