How to invite others to join your OpenSports group

Whether adding members of your team or sharing your group with players, there are several ways to share your group

OpenSports makes it easy to share your group with others and invite them to join. This guide will show you how to share your group through OpenSports webite and app.

Sharing your public group

  1. Log on to the OpenSports website and click on your profile (top right corner).
  2. Click on your group name in the menu. This will take you to your group page.
  3. Copy the URL of the website and share it through any other platform.
  4. When a user opens your group link, they will be able to create an account if they do not already have one, and then join the group.

Inviting members to join via email

  1. Log on to the OpenSports website and click on your profile (top right corner).
  2. Click on your group name in the menu. This will take you to your group page.
  3. Click on Invite.
  4. Enter an optional message that is included in the email invitation in the Message textbox.
  5. Enter the emails you want to send your group invitation to in the Emails textbox. Each email should be separated by a comma or entered on a new line.
  6. Once you are ready to send your invites, click Send Invites.
  7. Your email invites will be sent automatically through the OpenSports platform. This process can take several minutes.

Sharing your private group

If you set your group to private (i.e., invite-only), you will need to create an invite code before sharing your group link with others.

  1. Log on to the OpenSports website and click on your profile (top right corner).
  2. Click on your group name in the menu. This will take you to your group page.
  3. Click on Invite, then click on Invite Codes.
  4. Enter your invite code in the Add New Invite Code field. Your code should have at least 3 characters.
  5. Click Add Code to generate your invite link. Simply copy and share this link through any platform.
  6. You can create several invite links as needed. To de-activate a specific link, click on Disable next to the link.
  7. When a user opens your group invite link, they will be able to join the group.

Inviting members to join via email

To invite members to your private group via email, simply follow the same steps as inviting members to a public group via email.

Note: you will not receive notifications every time a new member joins your group. To receive notifications about new members, set up join requests.
