How to enter scores after a match (web & app guide)

Through the OpenSports league and tournament system, referees and captains can easily input scores, and league admins can even settle score disputes (i.e., if games are self-officiated).

Web guide

  • When a game has passed, click on the match from the Matches list
  • Then, click the “Enter Scores” button.
  • Input the scores, and click “Update”
  • Now, you can see a view of the score which indicates the winner of the match
  • If you go back to the Match List, you will see the scores for that match and all passed matches.

Note: you can not manually enter scores if the game is still at a future date/time.

App guide

  • When a game has passed, tap on the match either from the Matches this Week dashboard, or from the “View All” list view of all matches
  • Then, tap the “Enter Scores” button at the bottom of the match screen. Input the scores, and tap “Update”
  • Now, you can see a view of the score which indicates the winner of the match
  • If you go back to the Match List, you will see the scores for that match and all passed matches.

Note: you can not manually enter scores if the game is still at a future date/time.

Verifying/approving a score

Let’s say you are running a self-officiated league/tournament, or e-sports tournament. This means you are leaving it up to your captains or players (in the case of e-sports) to input the final scores.

  • Both team captains must enter the same score for the score to be locked, and the result to be reflected in the standings
  • When scores are entered, the league admin will receive a notification if there is a score dispute, and will be able to handle the dispute and approve the scores with one click
  • If there are any discrepancies, the league admin can contact the captains and can override the scores themselves
