Can I refund someone before/after an event has taken place?

Yes! Sending full or partial refunds through OpenSports is so easy

In this short how-to guide we will show you how to send full refunds and partial refunds through the OpenSports App and Web interfaces.

Sending Refunds (App)

From the Event page, tap on “Manage Users” > Under the Attending list, swipe from left to right on the name of the player you want to refund > Click “Refund Order”. That’s it!

The player will get a notification (app or email) as soon as the refund is issued and the money will go into their bank account in 7–10 business days.

Sending Refunds (Web)

Go to your event (find your past event by clicking on the drop down Menu under your profile picture >click “Hosting Events” and click on the “PAST” tab).

Once you find your event, click on “Manage Users” > Under the Attending list, click on the “Payment” button > Click the “Refund” button. That’s it!

Update: As of November 2020, we launched a User Dashboard which allows you to easily search for a players’ name and find the event that you want to refund. This is quicker!

Partial Refunds (Web & App)

Once you hit the Refund button, it will ask you how much you want to refund, allowing you to enter in the partial amount.

Player’s Notification

The player will receive the following message in their OpenSports chat (or email, if they are set up to receive notifications via email):
