Create & send invite codes for teammates to register for your team (Web)

As a team captain, you can send invites to teammates:

  • by invite code/URL
  • by email

This article will walk you through both!

First, navigate to your team’s page on the OpenSports website

  • Find your team’s dashboard by clicking on your profile picture (or initials), then from the drop-down menu, click on My Teams.
  • Then tap on the name of the team you registered. You will be directed to your team’s dashboard

A) Create an Invite Code

  • From the navigation sidebar, or the “My Team” tab, click on the ellipsis (…) at the top right corner of the screen.
  • Then click on Create Invite Code.
  • From here, OpenSports will automatically generate an invite code that you (the captain) can paste and share with teammates via any platform.

B) Invite by Email through the OpenSports Email System

  • Click on “Invite” from the navigation sidebar
  • Type in the emails of all of the players who you would like to invite, separated by a comma or a space, and click Send Invite.

The email your teammates receives look like this:

  • Your teammate clicks the Join Team button and is brought to the registration page

How a teammate joins when they receive an invite to your team (via email or Invite URL/Code)

Now that you’ve sent a teammate an invite to your team via email or URL/invite code, you might want to know how they join.

  • If they don’t have an OS account, they will be told to log in to get the spot:
  • When they click Login to get your spot, they can either log in to their existing account, or create a new account:
  • Once logged in, they can click Get Spot
  • When they click Get Spot, they will be directed to a registration page that will display the basic team and league details, with a large green Register button (if there are still spots available on the team).

  • Note: teammates who are non-captains cannot send invites
